Michael Freedman ’06 writes, “I’ve always loved competing in sports and the associated community, starting back with the baseball and football teams at Flint Hill. During Covid, like many others, I felt a longing for that sports community, and in 2023, I ventured into the world of triathlons, completing multiple Olympic distance races and an Ironman (IM) 70.3 race (formerly known as a half-Ironman). I also joined the Board of Directors for the Seattle Triathlon Group, which is a nonprofit that provides triathlon training and education to its fitness community. In 2024, I completed three IM 70.3 races (Tri-Cities, WA pictured here) and a full IM race in California, qualifying for the IM 70.3 World Championship in New Zealand in Dec. 2024 and the full IM World Championship in Nice, France in Sept. 2025. It’s never too late to learn a new activity!”
