BACK IN THE BUILDING:
Clare Jessey ’14

Clare Jessey ’14 returned to campus in November 2025 to speak to the young artists at the Upper School. Clare started at Flint Hill as a gifted soccer player with sights firmly set on the field until a sophomore-year ski accident forced her to pivot and lean into her lifelong knack for art, leading her to enroll in Digital Art I, Darkroom Photography, and to take Flint Hill’s Portfolio Art track.

She graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) and now works as a UX/UI Designer for Philips, where she designs patient monitors used in hospitals around the world. Clare listens, watches, asks questions, and collaborates with a host of experts to come up with a solution that meets her client’s needs.

She reflected on the pivot that set her journey in motion and shared with her rapt audience that giving this path a fair chance was the best decision she’s made.
